It is a water dam on the Nile River in southern Egypt. The dam works to protect Egypt from floods and droughts as well, as Lake Nasser reduces the surge of floodwaters and stores them for use in the years of drought. Formed due to the dam, which is the largest artificial lake in the world with an average length of 500 km, the width of the lake 10 km, and the total storage capacity of 162 billion cubic meters
