The unfinished obelisk

It is an obelisk of pink granite located in Aswan. The obelisk has a height of about 41 m, and its cross-section has a base of 4 m by 4 m, and its weight, when completed, is approximately 1168 tons. The ancient Egyptians built the era of Queen Hatshepsut with the aim of transporting it from Aswan and placing it in the Karnak Temple. When they finished digging the obelisk, they discovered a crack in it, which made it unfit to move from its place. Workers stopped completing it, and the lower surface of the obelisk, 42 meters long, is still attached to the ground rock that it is cut from.
